Curriculum Design

1. Curriculum Design

This program is designed to cultivate students’ critical thinking and evidence-based practice competencies, enabling them to apply appropriate research methodologies to address issues in the field of communication disorders. Students are also trained to clearly understand the limitations of these methodologies and the scope of applicability of research findings.


2. Curriculum Structure and Planning

This program is divided into two tracks: Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Students follow their admitted track as their major field of study. Both tracks include professional foundational courses (required), a master’s thesis (required), and elective courses (core electives and free electives), with a minimum graduation requirement of 38 credits.

1. Required Courses (20 credits, including thesis)

Required courses include:

  • Advanced Biostatistics
  • Selected Readings and Critical Analysis in Audiology
  • Selected Readings and Critical Analysis in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Research Methods in Communication Disorders
  • Seminar in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology
  • Thesis Writing
  • Independent Study / Special Topics Research

2. Elective Courses (18 credits total)

  • Core Electives (12 credits): students select one of three thematic areas
  • Free Electives (6 credits): no restriction on domain; may include courses across core elective areas
